Richard R Lagrant, 90, formerly of Ware, MA passed away, Sunday, November 1 at Quaboag Rehab surrounded by his loving family.  Richard leaves his four children Susan LaBarge of Ware, Ann Stansky and her husband Paul of Douglas, Marc and his wife Nancy of Hardwick, Robert and his wife Deborah of Ware, a twin brother Raymond of Springfield, MA and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Constance (Provencal) Lagrant in 2004. 

Richard was born in Ware on Feb. 17, 1925 and was the son of the late Frank and Sophia (Rog) Lagrant.

Richard graduated from Mt. Carmel School.  Served in WWII and upon returning from the service he worked in the Ware Woolen Mills for most of his working years.  Before retiring he worked at West Brook Heights Rest Home in West Brookfield, MA.  Richard was also a member of the Hardwick Rod and Gun Club.

Richard was first and foremost a loving and dedicated family man.  He was an extremely hard worker and had many passions like working outside in his gardens, cutting wood, hunting, gambling, and watching the Red Sox.  He enjoyed spending time in his workshop fixing and building things, especially birdhouses.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers at Quaboag Rehab who have cared for Richard for the last two years. 

Funeral services will be held at All Saints Church, Ware, MA on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors.There are no Calling Hours.

Charbonneau Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Soldiers Home in Holyoke, Treasurers Office, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA  01040.
