JOANNE ELEANOR (SPORBERT) CARPENTER

Joanne E. (Sporbert) Carpenter – 67-of Ware, died at home Monday evening, September 21, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.  Born in Ware on October 4, 1947,  daughter of the late Everett E. and Eleanor (Viggers) Sporbert.  Joanne is survived by her husband, her rock of 49 years, John H. Carpenter, her children, daughters, Amy Miarecki and her husband Brian of West Brookfield, Heather Bridges and her husband Scott of Warren and Christopher Deslauriers and his wife Anita who was like a son from Greensboro, NC.   “Mapa” leaves four grandchildren she cherished, Mikaela, Abby, Molly and Alex.  Joanne also leaves her “sissy-poo” Beverly Hanifin and her husband Peter of Ware, her close friends Darcy Allen and Marilyn Desroches, and many nieces and nephews. 

Joanne grew up in Belchertown and was a proud member of BHS class of 1965.  She later graduated from STCC with a hair dressing certificate.  Moving to Ware in the early 1970’s where she raised her family, was a member of the United Church of Ware and a waitress at Crystal Springs Dairy Bar for over 35 years.  Joanne loved spending time with her family, gardening, and the beach was her happy place.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 9:00 – 11:00am with a service following at 11:00am at Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., Ware, Ma.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York NY 10004,  or VNA Care Network and Hospice, Development Office, Worcester MA 01608-1280.
