WEST WARREN - Felix Sablack, 84, of South Street died on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his residence.
He leaves his loving wife, of 53 years, Agnes (Britch) Sablack; a step-son, Alvin G. Mitchell; one brother, Stanley Sablack; four sisters, Wanda Opalinski, Mary Ann Sablack, Rose Jacques, and Linda Dusza; one grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Steven, and John Sablack. Felix was born in West Warren, son of the late Frank and Blanche (Pawlina) Sablack and lived in Brookfield for 20 years, before moving back to West Warren where he and his family have resided for over 60 years.
Felix was a Construction Supervisor at Adams & Ruxton Construction Company for 40 years, before retiring in 1995.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family.
Felix is a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in West Warren, the Adams-Coney-Frew American Legion Post 244 in West Brookfield for 50 years, and a former member of the American Legion Post 8606 in West Warren where he served as Post Commander in 2004. As a hobby, Felix raised show tumbler pigeons for over 60 years.
A Funeral Mass for Felix will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00AM in St. Stanislaus Church, 2270 Main St., West Warren. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial with full military honors will be held in the Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 1661 Worcester Rd., Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
