Robert P. Kubert, Sr.

West Brookfield - Robert P. Kubert Sr. 87 of West Brookfield passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester MA.

He leaves his 3 daughters, Linda Lopez and her husband Dinin, Susan Kubert and Laurie Caron and her husband David.  He leaves 2 sons, Robert P. Kubert Jr. and his wife Alysia and Ronald P. Kubert and his wife Sue.  He leaves 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He also leaves his devoted caregiver and friend Debbie Champoux.

Robert, a devoted family man was born in Worcester to Vincent & Cathrine (Remillard) Kubert on 7/28/1934. He attended Boys Trade School in Worcester.  On 11/15/1952 he married the love of his life Rita Bolduc and for the next 65 years they lived in love of family in Worcester and West Brookfield MA.

Robert was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet, trap and pistol shooting.  He won many awards for marksmanship. Robert was also a master bird carver winning many awards for his craft.  He also enjoyed painting wildlife, playing guitar and woodworking.

Robert was a member of the West Brookfield and Warren Senior Center and the Quaboag Sportsman Club in Warren.  He was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church where he started the first folk group which he ran for five years.  He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul and a Eucharistic Minister for 25 years.

Robert received many awards for his work with Senior Citizens and Veterans; including a citation from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs of MA, The Secretary’s Award and he was recognized by the State Senate and House of Representatives for his work.

Robert was a tool & die maker, specializing in metal stamping.  He worked at many local shops including Brookfield Machine in West Brookfield until his retirement.

Robert is predeceased by his daughter Debra Roberts, his grandson Tyler Kubert and his loving wife Rita D. Kubert.

A Funeral Mass for Robert will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish, 10 Milk Street in West Brookfield MA.  Burial will follow the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in West Brookfield.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad; 18R West Main Street, West Brookfield MA 01585.
