Raymond Taft Obituary

West Brookfield - Raymond R. Taft, 55, of West Brookfield, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his home after being suddenly stricken.

 

He leaves his companion, Rachel of Gilbertville; his twin brother, Richard R. Taft and his companion, Paula of West Brookfield; his son, Joseph R. Taft of Webster; his daughter, Jennifer Taft and her companion Zach of Providence, RI, and their son Loki, who is Raymond’s grandson; his niece, Kayla Valentin and her husband Gabriel, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many of his fellow veterans and Legion friends.  He was born in Ware, son of the late Raymond L. and Louise P. Taft.

 

Shortly after graduating from Quaboag Regional High School in 1983, Ray enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  He trained and served as a helicopter mechanic, earning the rank of Lance Corporal. 

 

Ray was a long-time member of the Adams-Coney-Frew American Legion Post 244 in West Brookfield, where he enjoyed socializing and playing pool.

 

A Celebration of Ray’s life is being planned for a later date.
