Paul Anthony Merrill passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children after a short battle with bile duct cancer on September 1, 2022. He was born in Ware, MA to Theodore & Mary (Roberts) Merrill on December 30, 1959. He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 41 years Michelle (Fountain) and two adoring children who were the love and pride of his life, Andrew and his companion Alycia Rozzen of Hardwick and Emily and her companion Richard Chaffee of West Brookfield. He leaves his two sisters, Alice Romaniak of Reidsville, NC and Ann Merrill of West Brookfield; his brothers-in-law Michael Fountain & his wife Gail of Warren and Douglas Fountain of Northampton; his special sister-in-law Sandra Faugno & her husband Neil of Warren; his father-in-law Milton Fountain of Warren; a nephew, niece and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Robert and his mother-in-law Viola Fountain.
Paul was a quiet man with a gentle nature who will be forever missed by all who were close to him. Most of all, he enjoyed his home and being with his family. His working career was in the auto body collision repair field. He managed several shops, was a licensed auto damage appraiser & taught collision repair at Bay Path RVTHS. He had a passion for restoring muscle cars and was featured twice in Hot Rod magazine for his talent. He graduated from Quaboag Regional High School in Warren and attended Worcester State University.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Varnum Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10:30 am, with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Warren.
Varnum Funeral Home, Inc. 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
