Herbert A. Frew, Jr.

West Brookfield – Herbert A. Frew, Jr., 91, of West Brookfield died on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a long battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 70 years, Jane L. (Stone) Frew of West Brookfield, his son, Michael H. Frew and his wife Betty of West Brookfield, his granddaughter, Monica L. Frew, his grandson, Gregory M. Frew and his wife Tanya; his sister, Genevieve Cook of West Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased in 2015 by his sister Janice Mincy of Ware.  He was born in Ware on April 7, 1929, son of the late Herbert A. and Florence L. (Mundell) Frew.

Herbert was a Welder and Machine Operator at Gavitt Wire in Brookfield for 10 years and the former Johnson Steel and Wire of Worcester for 27 years, before retiring in 2000.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially his time spent hunting and fishing.

Herbert was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish.

A Funeral Mass for Herbert will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, West Main Street in West Brookfield.  Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 E. Main Street, in West Brookfield.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield following mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, P.O. Box 563, West Brookfield, MA  01585.
