Bernadette M. (Charron) Pothier

Ware - Bernadette M. (Charron) Pothier, 87, of Ware passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on May 10, 1935 to the late Ernest and Marie A. (Morin) Charron.

Bernadette leaves her brother, Andre Charron of Ware; and sisters, Yvonne Kriesak of Westfield, Anne Crawford of Michigan, Theresa Cote of Holyoke, and Marie Krofta and her husband Russel of Cleveland, Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bernadette is predeceased by her husband, Raymond E. Pothier, and her siblings, Jean Charron, Ernest Charron, Louise Morin, and Dorothy Langan.

Bernadette spent the first 20 years of her working life at The Urban Shoe Company. She then became a personal care assistant for the blind at Belchertown State School. She later transferred to Monson State Hospital to continue her work with blind patients to the end of her career. After she retired, you could find her on Wednesdays attending Prayer Meetings with her close group of friends. She was an active member at the Ware Senior Center for morning visits to enjoy the company of others. A few of her hobbies were sewing and painting at home.

A Funeral Mass for Bernadette will be held on Saturday morning March 18, 2023 11:00 am in All Saint’s Church, 17 North St., in Ware. Calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the Mass, in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware. The Burial will be held in St. Paul Cemetery in Warren on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 1:30pm.

During this time of Lent, in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations may be made to the Ware Senior Center, which provided a comfortable space and food for Bernadette and friends to share their time together. Please make checks payable to the Town of Ware, and mailed to The Ware Senior Center, 1 Robbins Road, Ware, MA, 01082. Please write Senior Center on the memo line.
