Warren - Armand H. Dimo, 85, of Warren, died on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Harrington Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy A. Dimo; his daughter, Diane M. Banfield of Warren and her husband James; two sons, Armand H. Dimo and his wife Mary, Timothy M. Dimo and his partner Sharon McKeon as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves his brother Albert, and many friends. He was predeceased by his brothers William Dimo and Francis Dimo, and his sister, Irene Kendall. He was born in West Warren, son of the late Louis E. Dimo and Leonie M. Houle and was a life-long resident of Warren.
Armand worked at Warren Pumps as a quality inspector for 35 years and went on to work as the Director of the Warren Council on Aging in West Warren until he retired at 77 years old. He was very well known throughout Warren with his friendly, kind-hearted nature. He loved to travel and could easily strike up a conversation. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary club of the Brookfield’s, and served on the Warren Water Board for many years. Armand also delivered the Angel meals for the elementary school, among other volunteer activities. His greatest devotion though, was to St. Thomas Church, the church that he grew up with and was a parishioner at. He gave generously of his time to organize or help with countless fund-raising events and tirelessly mowed the church lawns for many years. In his limited downtime, he enjoyed tending to his yard and the flower gardens around his home.
A Funeral Mass for Armand will be held at St. Paul’s Church on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10AM. Everyone should meet at the church. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 19th, from 3 to 5PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church, 1082 Main St., Warren, MA 01083.
