Richard R. Greene

West Brookfield – Richard R. Greene, 81, of West Brookfield passed into the hands of God on November 29, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 14, 1938 and grew up in Springfield and lived 4 years in Hampden before moving to West Brookfield in 1970.   He was the son of the late Charles W. and Harriet (Blair) Greene.

Richard is survived by his three children, Richard Jr. and Michael Scott Greene of West Brookfield and his daughter Kelly Potter and her husband Thomas of Warren. 

He leaves four grandchildren, Kaila (Potter) Kelly and her husband Michael Kelly of Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia along with his adored great-grandson of 5 years, Easton Kelly.  Tylor Potter and Nathan Potter of Warren, Nicole Greene and her fiancé Bryan D’Angelo of East Longmeadow.   Along with his beloved dog Mocha.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara L. (Dupuis) Greene and his brother, Charles W. Greene, Jr..

Richard worked for New York Life Insurance Company for 42 years in personal production sales and then was a managing partner for 9 years before retiring in 1998.

He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.  He loved traveling with his adored wife, Barbara.  He enjoyed entertaining and spending time with his family and friends.

He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.

A Funeral Mass for Richard will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00AM in Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield followed by a “Celebration of Life” at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, Inc.
