Phyllis H. (Bessette) Hanson

Hardwick - Phyllis H. (Bessette) Hanson, 94, died on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

She leaves her husband of 72 years, Eugene W. Hanson, Jr.; her daughter, Cynthia Primavera and her husband Richard of Ware; her son, George Hanson and his wife Barbara of Gilbertville; six grandchildren, Kim Sanderson Fritcher and her husband Steve, Ryan Sanderson and his wife Jadrienne, Russell Sanderson and his wife Danielle, Eric Sanderson and his wife Courtney, Tamara Bingle and her husband Richie and Brett Hanson and his wife Jana; and ten great-grandchildren, Brandon, Audrey, Jeorgia, Sylvie, Wesley, Lola, Brielle, Brilee, Kayla and Taegan.

Phyllis was wonderful homemaker, and also worked at the former Hardwick Printers as a screen printer for several years.

She was a long time member of  St. Aloysius Church, and was very devout in her faith and credits her long life to God.  She was a member of Catholic Woman’s Council and was heavily involved with church bingo and potluck suppers.  She could always be found at the church BBQ cake booth with Sister Doris spinning the Wheel of Fortune.

A Funeral Mass for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11:00AM in St. Aloysius Church, 64 Church St., in Gilbertville.  A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30AM prior to the mass in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery following mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Aloysius Church, 64 Church St., Gilbertville 01031.
