Lawrence J. "Larry" Parker

Gilbertville - Lawrence J. Parker, 70, of Gilbertville died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center.

He leaves his wife, Kathleen (Johnson) Parker of Gilbertville, three daughters, Kristin Hadley and her husband Jordan of Gilbertville, Rebecca Burbridge and her husband Andy of Beverly and Julie Smith and her husband Keith of Ware; a son, James Parker of Ware; four grandchildren, Karlie, Keith, Jr., Emily and Soley.  He was predeceased by three siblings, Kenneth, Robert, and Elizabeth Ann.  He was born in Ware, son of the late James S., Jr. and Eleanor M. (Mathews)  Parker.

Lawrence worked for the Quabaug Rubber Company in North Brookfield for 25 years before retiring in  2010.

Mr. Parker served on the West Brookfield Fire Department for many years as a firefighter.  He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Navy on the USS Furse Gearing-Class Destroyer.

A Funeral Service for Lawrence will be held  on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the  Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Mary Lane VNA & Hospice, P.O. Box 690, Ware, MA 01082.
