Barbara Greene Obituary

West Brookfield – Barbara L. (Dupuis) Greene, 79 of West Brookfield passed into the hands of God on August 19th at home surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born July 31, 1940 and lived in the South End neighborhood of Springfield.  Barbara attended Cathedral High School and graduated in 1959.   She was the daughter of the late Olympe and Dora (Landry) Dupuis.

 

Barbara is survived by her husband Richard R. Greene of 58 years and her three children, Richard Jr. and Michael Scott Greene of West Brookfield and her very loving daughter Kelly Potter and her husband Thomas of Warren. 

 

She leaves four grandchildren, Kaila (Potter) Kelly and her husband Michael Kelly of Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia along with her adored great-grandson of 5 years, Easton Kelly.  Tylor Potter and Nathan Potter of Warren, Nicole Greene and her fiance` Bryan D’Angelo of East Longmeadow.  Along with her beloved dog Mocha.

 

She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Couture and her husband Donald of East Windor, CT.  She is predeceased by her sister Jeannine LaBossiere of West Brookfield and brothers Ronald Dupuis and Gerald Dupuis of Springfield.

 

She enjoyed the life and times of her many nieces and nephews as the grew through the chain of life.

 

In her early years, she was employed by the New England Telephone Company.  While living in West Brookfield, she was a Supervisor at the Harris Pine Mills and worked at the West Brookfield Elementary School.

 

Barbara loved watching her flowers grow, traveling with her soul mate in their motor home and spending the winters at The Villages of Lady Lake, Florida.  The frosting on her “cupcake” were her trips to Foxwoods with her dear friend, Chris Long.

 

Her life was filled with wonderful memories.  She cherished her children and grand-children and gave them nothing but unconditional love.  She was the perfect “memiere.”

 

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the girls who cared for Barbara like she was their own mom, “Charlie’s Angels.”

 

A Funeral Mass for Barbara will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00AM in Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield followed by a “Celebration of Life” at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, Inc.
