Warren - Ronald R. Rainka, 82, of Warren, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, Maryland.
He leaves his daughters, Kathy Girouard and her husband Joeal of Warren, Priscilla Clowes and her husband Dennis of Warren, Michele Salvadore and her husband Joseph of New Braintree; his sons, Christopher Rainka of NJ, and Anthony Rainka and his wife Jessica of Douglas; his brothers, Julian Rainka and his companion Deedee Cleveland of Warren, and John Rainka, Jr. of Warren; his sister, Tina Como and her husband John of Warren; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Anthony, Isabella, Emma, Preston, Phoebe, Ethan, and Zoey. He also leaves his many friends in the antique community and his golf league buddies. He was born in Warren, son of the late John E. and Nellie (Libera) Rainka.
Ronald graduated from UMass and worked as a math teacher at Tantasqua Regional High School for 34 years.
Ronald was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He enjoyed dealing and collecting antiques. He was part of the Brimfield Antique Shows from the very beginning, and was a member of the Somers Antique Bottle Club. He also enjoyed playing basketball, golf, playing cribbage, and spending time in his beloved woods, caring for the property, planting rare trees, and spending countless hours enjoying nature. He will be greatly missed by all.
Calling hours for Ronald will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 5 - 7pm in the Varnum Funeral Home in West Brookfield. A funeral mass will be held the following day, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 10am in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, 10 Milk Street in West Brookfield. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O.
