ROBERT EDWARD KING
February 2, 1930 ~ August 15, 2016 (age 86) 86 Years Old
Robert E. King, 86, passed away on August 15th in Wilbraham. He leaves his wife Edith (Goodfield) with whom he enjoyed 64 years together. He also leaves his daughters Darlene Wilson of Belchertown and Cheryl Brown and her husband Peter of Granby, his grandchildren Logan Brown, and Melanie and Eric Wilson, and his great-granddaughter Angelica Wilson. He was born in Ware son of Walter and Elmira King. He owned and operated along with his wife Hillside Printing in New Braintree for many years. He served in the US Navy, was a member of the New Braintree FD. He was an avid golfer, made wonderful homemade bread. He along with Edith travelled cross country, including Alaska, and Hawaii. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren, playing cards, skip-bo, monopoly, horseshoes, gardening, fishing and camping. He was a former member of the Grand Order of Masons, the Gilbertville Trinitarian Congregational Church and more recently Granby Church of Christ. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday Aug. 25th at 1pm in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Ware.
