Lake City, FL / Ware - Leo W. Allard, 84, of Lake City, Florida, and formerly of Ware, died on Monday, November 20, 2017.

 

He leaves his sons, Jerry Allard and his wife Toni of West Brookfield, MA and Paul Allard and his partner Dotti Aiello of Glen, NH; his daughters, Colleen Allard of Vero Beach, Florida and Kathy Bernier of Stafford, Virginia; one brother, Robert Allard of Monson, MA; four sisters, Dora Novitsky of Rockledge, Florida, Irene Dumas of Putnam, Connecticut, Clare Rozzen of Warren, MA,  Beatrice Lavella of Ware, MA, and six grandchildren, Tracy, Kate, Chris, Kelly, Ryan, and Patrick, six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Nora, Eli, Graeme, Macklin, and Connelly.  He was predeceased by his son, Glen Allard, and his brothers, Elmer and Richard Allard, and sisters, Edna Arsenault, and Jenny McCoy.   He was born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Harmidas and Gertrude (Johnson) Allard, and lived in Ware for over 50 years prior to moving to Florida.  

 

Leo owned and operated his own heavy-equipment construction company for several years while in Ware.  He then worked as the Head of Maintenance at Eagle Hill School for 15 years, before retiring in 1993.  

 

He had an interest and ability to fix almost anything, whether it belonged to him, a neighbor, or a friend.  He enjoyed visiting family and traveling the country on his motorcycle.

 

Leo was a member of All Saint’s Church while he lived in Ware.

 

He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War.   

 

A Funeral Service for Leo will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., Ware.  A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the New Saint William’s Cemetery in Ware.
