Kevin my friend, I want you and your family who survives you that you were so very loved by seemingly EVERY single New Yorker you ever met. You were not only the very best bartender I’ve ever come across, you were more importantly one of my very best friends for all the years we spent in your company. You always listened, you took the time to do that. There were quite a few of us that (I was too young and “in the moment” at the time to realize this) who counted on you to listen and keep personal issues to yourself. You did an excellent job! You were my therapist, my friend, my confidante, a part of my support system at the time, and you were someone who always understood me. That is an invaluable gift to give to many of us (mostly women) who were in our late 20’s and early 30’s and were becoming REAL grown up women. You guided me, without my even realizing it, always in the right direction. You didn’t sugar coat your opinion, or the truth, but you always made people happy. It was YOU. You made Mooney’s the extra special, super fun, and comical place that it was for many years. You missed your calling (as my Dad would say!), You should have been a therapist. But thank God you didn't do that because who else would have made my greyhounds JUST the way I liked them! All kidding aside, you were miles ahead of the average Joe. You were brilliant. You were wise, you were honest, but you were never afraid to show us your own humanity, and share with some of us what was going on in your life. And Kevin, I loved you and will always love you with all my heart. I wish we had all known that you had passed away. I assure you, Conrad and I would have been there for your service. But since I was not there, this is my good bye to you. I hope you are somehow able to feel that you are missed and that you are truly one of the most special people I’ve ever known. Good bye for now Kevin McMahon....I know I’ll see you again....”when my ticket is up!” Love, Carrie Cota

Just learned of Kevin‘s passing. My wife and I were sitting around remembering Kevin fondly and decided to look him up on the internet as we usually, throughout the years, remained in touch. Kevin was an amazing guy. We worked together on many shoots in New York. He was a kind, good hearted person who I always considered a friend. He was extraordinarily talented and he is greatly missed. Michelle and I send our heartfelt condolences to his family.

I grew up next door to Kevin and Steve and have many great memories of those times. Kevin was a lot of fun and everyone always enjoyed being around him. My condolences to Steve and family.
