Daniel  made his journey safely home, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on July 30th, surrounded by his loving family. Dan joined the Hardwick Fire Dept. as a teenager, but his dream was to be on the Ware Fire Dept. as a fulltime firefighter. In time his dream came true. He rose through the ranks, becoming and EMT and EMTI. He then became Captain and finally Deputy Chief, before retiring in December 2012, after 32 years of service. His other love was NASCAR, and never got over the death of Dale Earnhardt, and continued to follow Dale Jr. He loved the New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years Debra  (Szloch)  Danitis, who never left his side, his daughter Kelsey and her soon to be husband Ryan McDonald, who helped keep him comfortable in his final days, his son Nicklaus, whom he also made his home with; also his daughters Heather Malin of Hardwick, Rachel Dandurant, Tammy Danitis and son Jared Danitis all of Ware, his mother Joyce Rochford and step-father Al in Alabama, his two sisters Jodi Walker and husband Ray of Hardwick and Laura Seaborne of Worcester and many nephews and nieces, and we can not forget Kayden the family dog who loved Dan so much. He was a member of the Hardwick Rod & Gun Club and the Weir River Social Club. He cherished his two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a 1981 Sportster and his 2004 Wide Glide. He made our home special, always building things in the workshop in the cellar. He built the beautiful wall out front. He enjoyed painting , working and doing odd jobs for others. We will miss you forever. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday from the Charbonneau Funeral Home , 30 Pleasant St. with a Mass at 11am in All Saints Church, North St. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from  4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Ware FD Ambulance Fund , West St. Ware MA 01082.
