Clara M. (Troy) Jalbert

Spencer - Clara M. (Claire) (Troy) Jalbert, 73, of Spencer died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home following a short  illness.

She leaves her  husband of over 55 years, James E. Jalbert; two sons, James E. Jalbert, Jr., and his wife Wilma of Cumberland, RI, and Jeffrey M. Jalbert and his companion Wendy of Paxton; two daughters, Lisa M. DiBonaventura and her husband Mike of Spencer, and Laurie A. Phelan of Spencer; her sister, Naomi M. Davidson and her husband John of Worcester; three brothers, Walter D. Troy and his wife Lynne of Worcester, John W. Troy III and his wife Jewel of Georgia, Arthur D. Troy and his wife Debbie of Worcester, as well as her Aunt Connie from Newport, RI. She also had 7 grandchildren: Michael DiBonaventura and his wife Liz of Rutland, Jonathan and Anthony DiBonaventura who resided with her, Sean Phelan and his wife Axelandra of NJ, Sara Cornacchioli and her husband Domenic of Spencer, Monique Jalbert of Cumberland, RI and Jessica O’Day of Rutland.  She also had 3 great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter expected this month, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Cecelia Jalbert, and leaves her brother-in-law, Joseph T. Jalbert. She was born in Newport, Rhode Island, daughter of the late John W. and Gladys (Izzo) Troy.

Clara was a Home Health Aide at Overlook VNA for 22 years, and worked right up until becoming ill in September.

She was a member of Emmanuel Orthodox Church, 25 Winthrop Terrace in Warren, and was devoted to the church. She was always kind and caring, and found great comfort in being able to care for others. 

Calling hours will be held in the church from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 8th, 2018.  A Funeral Mass for Clara will be held  at 10:00AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Emmanuel Orthodox  Church, 25 Winthrop Terrace in Warren.  Burial will be in  Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery in Spencer.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emmanuel Orthodox Church, 25 Winthrop Terrace, Warren, MA 01083.
